The original Carnevale was held in Venice and is celebrated there and worldwide each year as a prelude to lent. Beautiful costumes and creative masks along with special balls mark this celebration annually prior to Ash Wednesday, the official start of the Lenten season. The Foundation sponsors the event for young and young at heart annually.

The Foundation proudly supports this talented group, directed by Viviana Garabello to enhance our desire to preserve Italian music. This group performs at the club as well as at other venues in the metro Detroit area.
Columbus Day celebration is held annually to recognize Christopher Columbus' contribution to history. This event includes dinner extravaganza, flag raising in Livonia and visit to our Capitol in Lansing.
Our next dinner extravaganza is on October 7, 2018 followed with raising of the Italian flag at city hall at 9 a.m. on October 8th.
In the Italian folklore La Befana is an old woman who delivers gifts to children on epiphany (celebrated on January 6) mirroring the well established tradition of Santa Claus. The Foundation donates the gifts to the children.

Easter Monday, known as “La Pasquetta” is part of the Easter Holiday Celebration. It is a popular time to venture to the countryside with family and friends to enjoy what is generally the first sign of spring in Italy. The Foundation sponsors the egg hunt and prizes for children.

The contest is part of the Columbus Day Celebration. The contestants from 5 to 20 years old, will participate in all activities of Columbus Day.
Each year a number of scholarships are awarded to 11th grade high school students of Italian descent living in southeastern Michigan. The applications are evaluated by a panel of judges using a consistent, objective approach applied to a special grading formula. The Foundation is proud to partner with the "Shades of Pink", a non-profit organization founded to support breast cancer patients with financial needs.
Our next event in October 28, 2018 - Luncheon & Fashion show
The camp, an "immersion" into Italian language and heritage for all children age 5 to 11 is held every summer at the club. The children learn traditional Italian games, culture, language and much much more in a safe and fun environment.
The Foundation supports the effort of this respected vocal competition of high school students. This event is organized annually by the Verdi Opera Theatre of Michigan. Talented competition winners have experienced great success in the operatic world. The Foundation funds the prizes to the winners.
